Dr Niamh Moran

Qualifications: MB BCH BAO (Medical Degree) MICGP (GP Training), Diploma in Child Health, Diploma in Obstetrics and Women's Health, Diploma in Medicine for the Elderly, Cervical Smear Training, Certificate in Dermatology, Certificate in Contraception and Contraception Tutor Training.

 

Niamh is a graduate of the National University of Ireland Galway. She completed vocational GP training in General Practice in 2011 and has been working as a GP in the Midlands since then. 

 

Niamh is interested in all aspects of General Practice. She enjoys caring for patients both young and old and getting to know them.

 

During her training she gained experience working in Cardiology, Medicine for the Elderly,  Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ear Nose and Throat and Breast and General Surgery.

 

She is also particularly interested in and has certified in Lifestyle Medicine. Even small lifestyle changes can be powerful in terms of health improvement. As Healthcare professionals we can support and empower patients to try and make those positive changes. In 2021 Niamh set up the Irish Society of Lifestyle Medicine with colleagues. She is the first chair of this group. 

 

Niamh is involved with a group of healthcare professionals working to improve the care of patients with Obesity and Childhood Obesity and was involved in 2021 in the first Irish Guidelines for Obesity Care, which have been published in 2022.

 

Niamh also has a special interest in Mental Health. She has additional training in stress management. She has a special interest in Dementia care and has given talks for carers and patients with the Alzheimer's Society of ireland.

 

She has a keen interest in medical education and has undertaken a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education. She has worked as Assistant Programme Director for GP Training at the RCSI GP Training Scheme in Dublin since 2017 and works as an Examiner with the Irish College of General Practitioners for GP Trainee final examinations.

Celine Mc Sweeney
Practice Nurse
​

Celine is a registered general nurse with more than 20 years experience. She worked as a Clinical Nurse Manager in Residential Care for Older People prior to moving to General Practice nursing. Amongst other roles within the practice Celine manages our cervical smear service, vaccination programmes and as part of the chronic disease programme carries out comprehensive health checks.
She is a superb asset to our team.

Dr Eimear Dunne
GP Registrar

​

Dr Eimear Dunne studied in UCD. She graduated in 2018. She has years of experience both in Irish and Australian hospitals. She has worked in the fields of paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, emergency medicine, medicine for the elderly, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, vascular and orthopedic surgery. She is also fluent in Irish Sign Language and Spanish.
We are delighted to have her with us this year.

Maria Pollock                      Eleanor Kelly
Maria and Eleanor manage the reception desk and administration work in the practice smoothly. They play an important part in providing a safe and positive patient experience.

This is a teaching practice that is affiliated with the UCD GP Training Scheme.


Dr Niamh Moran has been appointed a GP Trainer of GP Trainees. We have one GP Registrar Doctor in the practice on rotation. They are qualified doctors with years of hospital experience and in their final stages to becoming a GP.
